Retroist Meatballs Podcast

Retroist Meatballs Podcast

Welcome to the Retroist Meatballs Podcast. On today I talk about the 1979 Bill Murray comedy classic, Meatballs. I start off talking about the downside of stranger danger, but then I put that behind me and focus on the plot, the stars of the film, the people behind the scenes, the sequels and a much much more. Music on the show was provided by Peachy (the David Naughton of Wales).

Now that’s a movie I haven’t seen in years. I think I’m going to have to go find a copy.

I’m ready for the summer and for a good time with the podcast.
But however it runs out, it just doesn’t matter.

Saw this movie at the cinema and it blew me away.
I was expecting to have fun from knowing Bill Murray from SNL, but I was about Rudy’s age and it was like having a big brother presence in my life for that summer.

I went back to see again a few times.
(movies and popcorn were cheaper then. And phones had rotary dials and cords and stayed in the effin’ house… Eh, it just doesn’t matter *breathes deeply*)

What a great installment. Regarding “Deleted Scenes of the Mind” — LOL. I have definitely spent too much time immersed in television and movie culture. I’ve been creating my own deleted scenes of the mind for years.

  4. I finally got to hear this one tonight for my walk. You mentioned hating bugs towards the end of the show, and right when you said that, I ended up with walking through a spider web. How’d ya do that?! Great show Retro!
