And you were exactly right re problems with Indy the RPG (same as with Conan the RPG): everyone wanted to be the central hero and the licensing deals wouldn’t allow them to expand beyond the movie characters so there’s not enough worldbuilding to allow for more heroics.
Shrug. Heard all this secondhand from those who were at TSR at that time. Sad really as they might have done some cool things with the license
I played a few TORG Campaigns and one of them kind of turned into an Indiana Jones ripoff. Moving around the globe as 1930s adventurers, recovering artifacts and beating bad guys, that sort of thing. It was such a blast. Maybe the most memorable time I had in that particular game system. It is exactly what I hoped Indy would have turned into.
My brother Stéphane and I also watched the Charlie Brown specials. In French, on Télé-Québec, every year, well into adulthood.
We also watched Astérix le Gaulois, and Tintin, plus some movies.
I didn't discover Astérix until I was able to rent them at the video store, and I really enjoy them. Wish I had grown up watching them on TV.
Catching up on things and enjoying the remembrance of Indiana Jones RPG et al on the podcast. Looking forward to the Great Pumpkin
Glad you are enjoying the show! Hope you like this one.

Great episode, as usual. This special is as much a part of Halloween as Jack O'Lanterns and candy!
I think I have watched it every October since I can remember remembering.
It is surprisingly robust. I just love it, but it is easy to see why it was one of the segments cut to make room for more commercials.
