Great article! I remember the development of the digital camera and how excited I was. You had to be so careful taking pictures and developing film because it was so expensive. What a change when it all went digital.
When I first got to play around with one (a Mavica) I remember that realization about film taking a little time to dawn on me. I was being very careful taking photos like I would be with a film camera and then I just cut loose and started snapping away.
I owned the MVC-FD73 in 99'. It was such a cool new era for photography. I was amazed at the idea of having instant photos that looked good. Sold lots of things on ebay that year thanks that camera.
That 90s ad was bonkers, but boy did that bring back memories! Our school had a Mavica that wrote to floppy disks- it felt so futuristic!
I think in the 90s I wouldn't have given this ad much thought, but when I watched it now I could see the road we were headed down very clearly.
I miss taking my camera and two dozen floppies with me everywhere. It sounds inconvenient but I miss it.

Thanks for all the work you do!
