Retroist Jewel of the Nile Podcast

Welcome to the Retroist Jewel of the Nile Podcast. On this week’s show I talk about the 1980’s romantic action adventure comedy sequel, Jewel of the Nile. I start out talking about how HBO could, through repeated showings, get me to like anything. Then talk about the writer, director, cast, plot and much much more.

Vic Sage is back with a brand new “Why Should I know this Person.” This week Vic talks all about the very talented, Holland Taylor.

  1. Fosdick Clementine says:

You mentioned in both of these episodes that this was the only sequel Turner ever appeared in and that the only reason she did was because she was forced to by a lawsuit, which seemed to imply Turner was against appearing in sequels. However, she starred in the movie “V.I. Warshawski,” explicitly with the idea that it was going to be the start of a series of films. That didn’t happen because the movie wasn’t financially successful, but she went on to appear in a couple of BBC radio drama sequels (adaptations of other novels in the series). Just a bit of trivia for ya… You were of course correct on the facts.
