An older kid in my scout troop had one that he’d bring on camping trips. The album selection he always brought was limited: John Prine’s “Prime Prine”, Jethro Tull’s “Aqualung”, Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”, and Cheech & Chong’s “Wedding Album”. We younger kids didn’t mind the bad sound and limited music selection, though, because that Dynamite 8 was just so cool to look at!
Unfortunately, I can't really trust Jimmie Walker as a pitchman, having encountered him in the past as one of the panelists on a syndicated revival of "The Liars' Club".
Love this. Was hoping you video’d it playing. You did not disappoint. Fun stuff , Nostalgia.
Thanks, glad I added the video as well. It was a last minute decision.
Excellent piece. Thanks for the deep dive into a great memory!
Yay Techmoan!
Thanks for doing this article. Although, I think the greatest moment I saw one of these was when The Cheat was bashing it with a golfclub! :P
Congrats on getting your unit working - that makes a great collectible all the more special.
