Summer is Almost Over – One Last Chance to Use that Slush Mugg
During my childhood, a significant portion of my summers were spent at my Uncle's house in the woodlands of upstate New Jersey. Nestled amidst trees, abandoned farms, and railroad tracks, the area was ripe for exploration by me and my cousins.
Despite the sweltering New Jersey summer heat, those days were truly special. We had the privilege of indulging in the built-in swimming pool at my Uncle's place, which offered a refreshing oasis. And when that wasn't an option, my Aunt came to the rescue with a delightful alternative – the Slush Muggs.
For those unfamiliar with these nifty mugs, they are designed to be placed in the freezer. Once filled with liquid, they magically transform it into a delectable icy slush.
Even now, every summer, I find immense joy in retrieving my trusty Slush Mug from its storage. As I pour in some Hawaiian Punch or a similar favorite, I am instantly transported back to those endless summer days spent at my Uncle's house, which he fondly referred to as "god's country." It's a simple yet cherished tradition that enables me to relive the carefree magic of bygone times.
