I have recently bought the blue Speak & Spell with the handle at the top. According to this post, it was the last version made by TI in 1991.
Does anyone know if this one can be powered by a DC 6v power supply like the old red ones? Next the head phone jack there is a small round cover plate. Not sure if it can be removed and if there is a power socket underneath.. Any help would be appreciated.
I haven't seen one in person, but I have seen people use them in circuit bending projects and not one of them is hooked up to a power supply. Not sure if that indicates a limitation or not. Would enjoy opening one up and taking a look what's going on inside.
I remember the old Speak N Spell (not sure about the new one): When I entered "g-o-d" in the thing, it would say "ha ha, you're funny" or something like that.
This was in the mode where one could put in a short word and the machine would say back what that word was.
