I also watched this after school, but in '70s syndication. Actually my sister said she went into the medical field based on seeing this show. Well done, good actors, realistic, and some comic relief. And one of the great theme songs!

TV shows like Emergency! and Adam-12 had this knack for putting the spotlight on people's careers. Mantooth often talks about how fulfilling that feels in interviews. It's pretty great to think about the impact those shows must have had on people's lives.

It was also released on Blu-Ray earlier this year (August or September), and this Blu improves upon the picture quality of the DVDs (the fourth and fifth seasons' presentation was criticized for being subpar, looking almost 16mm, with plenty of film dust and damage, but in this Blu, those seasons have had their quality improved; I still accepted the DVDs, as I had never seen the show prior to then); as I was going through, the show itself was of such quality that I was in for the long haul, and I finished the DVDs, and now have the Blu as well.

Been thinking I should upgrade and do another rewatch. Might be a good Xmas gift to myself. :)

$98.84 on Amazon (used from $92.65)-- you may be able to find a better price elsewhere; no matter what you pay, you'll very much get a deal with this, IMO.
