Like everyone else I thought you did this one before. So many great memories of this special. Next to Emmett Otters Jugband Christmas a favorite. We had a Two Guys by us in the 70s growing up along with a Twin Fair store. I think these were East Coast maybe NY state stores.

This program and the soundtrack are fantastic. Both capture the joy and melancholy of the season.

I’ve noticed in Finland, they get their Christmas trees from the forest, usually a Norwegian Spruce. Which, yes, resembles a Charlie Brown tree compared to our fir Christmas trees. After pointing it out, my wife now refers to them as Charlie Brown trees.

Just looked at photos and can totally see it. I grew up with a fake tree and when I got older decided to get my first real tree. I went to a lot and the owner took me around, I think they had multiple types of trees mostly pine and fir. They had blue spruce, which the guy did not recommend, but the smell of it was amazing.

And blue spruce is such a beautiful tree. I’ve planted a few in my yard. The Norwegian spruce grow all over the place so I’m constantly transplanting them, but the blue spruce you have to buy at the store.

Also, I just noticed online that northern Scot Pine is also used as Christmas trees apparently. This is the other main conifer tree in Finland, and it’s even more of a Charlie Brown tree.
