Ramblin’ Root Beer was Something More

Let's take a trip down memory lane to talk about Ramblin' Root Beer, a tasty root beer that was made by The Coca-Cola Company starting in the 1970s. Now, I'm not a big root beer drinker myself, but back when I was a kid, whenever I did have a craving for root beer, Ramblin' was always my top choice. I have so many memories of enjoying frosted mugs filled with Ramblin' at my best friend's family BBQs throughout the 1980s. Those moments made me think that drinking from a frosted mug was the epitome of fancy!

But you know what's a bummer? It seems like Ramblin' didn't sell as well as Coca-Cola had hoped. After they acquired Barq's in the mid-1990s, they made the tough decision to discontinue Ramblin'. It's a shame when a beloved product goes away, but that's just how things go sometimes in the world of soda.

What's really amazing is that even after all these years, the jingle from the Ramblin' Root Beer commercial is still burned into my brain. I can still sing along to it! And here's a fun fact: In one famous Ramblin' ad, a very young Sarah Jessica Parker makes a cameo appearance, dressed in full "Annie" attire. It's like a blast from the past, seeing her in those early career moments.

It's funny how certain things can stick with you, like that catchy jingle and the memories of enjoying Ramblin' Root Beer with friends and family. Even though Ramblin' is no longer around, those memories and the taste of that delicious root beer linger on. It's a reminder of the joy we found in simple pleasures and the special moments we shared.
