Growing up, my family always used generic facial tissues that felt like sandpaper, and I had no idea there were better options out there. But one day in the 1990s, everything changed when I went to the store to buy tissues. That day, I made a big decision and grabbed a brand called Puffs. I had never heard of them before, living in my little bubble, but I wanted to try something different. When I used one for the first time, oh boy, I was amazed! Unlike the rough and nose-tearing experience I was used to, Puffs felt like a gentle kiss from the softest flower petals.

So, all excited about this "new" brand, I went to my Mother and tried to convince her to switch to Puffs. But instead of being impressed, she burst into laughter. You know why? Because she knew that Puffs had been around for a whopping 30 years by that time! I couldn't believe it. How had I missed these amazing tissues when they were right next to the generic ones I'd used my whole childhood?

Since that funny incident, I've learned my lesson. Now, I make sure to know a little bit about a product's history before I go around proclaiming things about them. It's embarrassing to get all excited about something that's been around for ages!

Looking back, if only I had seen this Puffs ad from the 1980s, I would have known about them long before and saved myself some red-faced moments. Well, you live and learn, right?

Remember when Mickey Mouse decided to commit suicide?
Unless you lived in the 1930s or are a fan of vintage comic strips you might not be aware of the attempted Mickey Mouse suicide.
