As someone born smack dab in the middle of-80s, I wasn’t quite ā€œpresentā€ for the launch of My Buddy, but I definitely remember the commercials for it that were still going strong by the time the 90s kicked off and I was watching Maya the Bee on Nickelodeon.

I never wanted any of the dolls, and thankfully never had one.

But oh, that song has never left me after all these years. lol

My Buddy would 100% be outlawed in at least 25-30 states if it were introduced today. Would love to see it make a comeback.

In the 80's you could find cartoons on weekday tv from 3 - 5 pm. And the Joan Lunden ad was excellent, right out of TV Guide or other magazine of the period.
