Let's embark on a journey back to the early days of computer gaming and the joy of playing King's Quest on the IBM PCjr. While I had my heart set on an Apple IIc, my father believed in the potential success of IBM's line of PCs. Thus, our first computer became an IBM PCjr, which I'm happy to report is still running strong today—thanks, IBM!

Among the first games I experienced on our trusty PCjr was King's Quest, a masterpiece crafted by the talented folks at Sierra. This adventure game was a true gem, making excellent use of the PCjr's vibrant color palette. Sierra went on to create a series of fantastic King's Quest games, particularly installments II to VI, which captivated players with their immersive storytelling and engaging gameplay.

As the years went by, the Sierra properties changed hands multiple times, eventually finding a home with Activision. Sadly, they remained dormant for a while, leaving fans eagerly awaiting news of their return. But then, an exciting press release came—a new King's Quest game was in the works!

Sierra's slate of indie games is an all-new King's Quest™ experience in 2015, and a new Geometry Wars™ game planned to launch this holiday season.

I sincerely hope that Activision delivers a quality product that lives up to the impressive legacy of the King's Quest series. It would be wonderful to see the new game pay homage to its point-and-click adventure origins while incorporating modern innovations. If this revival proves successful, who knows? Perhaps we'll witness the return of other beloved Sierra titles, such as Space Quest, ushering in a new golden age of adventure games. It's a gamer's dream come true.

So, let's keep our fingers crossed and eagerly await the release of the new King's Quest game. With a touch of nostalgia and anticipation, we hope to embark on another epic journey filled with mystery, puzzles, and the thrill of exploration. Long live King's Quest and the enduring spirit of classic adventure gaming!

Remember when Mickey Mouse decided to commit suicide?
Unless you lived in the 1930s or are a fan of vintage comic strips you might not be aware of the attempted Mickey Mouse suicide.
