Kidd Video and his band, bearing the same name, found themselves in a rather peculiar and fantastical predicament. Their story began when they were abruptly snatched away from their normal lives by an enigmatic villain known as Master Blaster. The destination of their unexpected journey? None other than a surreal cartoon realm christened "The Flipside." It was there that they experienced their salvation in the form of a benevolent fairy named Glitter.

From that point forward, the episodes of this animated series revolved around two central themes. First, Kidd Video and his band, much like characters in the classic "Dungeons & Dragons" cartoon, embarked on quests to aid the inhabitants of The Flipside in liberating themselves from the oppressive rule of Master Blaster. Second, they relentlessly sought a means to return to the world they knew as the "real world."

One of the defining elements of the show was its unmistakable resemblance to the MTV culture of the era. Each episode bore the unmistakable mark of a music video theme. Viewers could count on at least one adrenaline-pumping action sequence, choreographed to the beat of a popular song. An ingenious tactic employed by the heroes was to distract their adversaries by treating them to the latest music videos, effectively entrancing their enemies while they made their stealthy escape.

Adding a delightful twist to the proceedings, every episode concluded with a live-action music video featuring none other than Kidd Video and his band. It was a clever melding of animation and live action, underscoring the show's unique appeal.

Interestingly, the adventures of Kidd Video were not confined solely to television screens. The show eventually made its way to home video, making it accessible for fans to enjoy at their leisure. In the United States, DiC Video & Golden Books released six VHS tapes, each containing a single episode, allowing enthusiasts to relive the animated escapades of Kidd Video and his band time and time again.

The legacy of this unique series endures, serving as a testament to the creative and imaginative spirit of its time. It's a reminder of how the melding of music, animation, and adventure captured the hearts and imaginations of viewers, leaving a lasting mark on the world of entertainment.

Unless you lived in the 1930s or are a fan of vintage comic strips you might not be aware of the attempted Mickey Mouse suicide.
