In 1968, Kentucky Fried Chicken jumped into a new market and opened its first Kentucky Roast Beef Restaurant. It was a short-lived chain with explosive growth and a quality product.
I'm so glad I found this because people thought I was combining memories. My big brother took me to Kentucky Roast Beef around 69-70. I remember it was so delicious. Probably because fast food was something I wasn't used to eating.
Sounds like Arby's had some direct competition for a while. I know Arby's gets a ton of beef, sorry Father's Day was yesterday, but I've always like it.

Thanks for sharing your memory. I have heard from so many people how good it was. Shame they didn't keep it around.

There was one still in business in Kofu City, Yamanashi, Japan, in 1988. tasted great!
Kent is my grandpa! So fun to see his name still coming up after 12+ years of his passing.
Thank you for posting this!
Kent seemed impressive and extremely capable from I have read while putting this together.
