They spoofed Wonder Woman back in their comic book days pretty good (as "Woman Wonder") so they could have easily spoofed the Lynda Carter show with that title.
I would totally watch any of these shows. There was a MUSH cartoon in fact, but someone totally dropped the ball on Little Mouse on the Prairie. It was right there, people! It could have been so mediocre!
I can only imagine the Hatch Game.
Gene Rooster: "Dumb Dora was sooooo dumb..."
Everyone: "HOW DUMB WAS SHE?"
Gene Rooster: "Instead of an egg, she tried to hatch her BLANK"
Brett Gizzard: "Let me brood on that."
Charles Nelson Broiler: "Let me pullet an answer from somewhere. Hur-hur-hur!"
OK, It's not MAD magazine worthy. But I could've got a job at Dynamite, easy.
There's a deep rumbling within my subconscious that tells me I might have seen these - memory unlocking . . . Fortunately/Unfortunately I can resolve most of the TV show parody names! 😄
I remember the comic ads for these, but we never got them around here. (I live in Canada, so maybe that's it?) I find it weird that there isn't a lot of info on this sort of thing on the internets. That's a big part of why I come here so much: you cover a lot of the forgotten bits of pop culture history that seem to have slid between the cracks.
These bring to mind another set of snack cake cards that I only vaguely remember. Would have been 79/80, and they featured a Battlestar Galactica style story of humans fleeing aliens. Came with card and cutout models/standees. I've been curious to find out more, but no luck.
Cutout cards used to be a big thing.... wonder why they faded away.
No.... they were more 70's looking. (They came out in '78 or '80.) Like a European comic with the faded, pastel colours and such. The alien troops had featureless helmets; hemispherical, olive green. (I remember a standee with two of them hunched behind a rock or a tree....) The cards had an order and told the story. At one point the humans build some sort of dimensional transport device. I remember 'cos one of the cutout models was that device: a computer screen lookin' thing. They came on the back of some snack-cake products. I THOUGHT it might have been Voortman who put it out, but I wrote to them and they had no recollection of such a set. I only vaguely remember them, but I remember a lot of excitement to complete the set when I was a kid.
....and if you like mysteries; how well do you know colouring books?
Spent a good hour last night trying to find these cards or a hint at what they might be. They have been added to my ever-growing list of things to look out for.
Very kind. Those cards have bothered me for a long time. And I don't want to hijack the thread, but if you're looking for a colouring book related mystery I can supply one. (Here or on my private e-mail.)
I would have loved to see "Blunder Woman" and "Thunder Dog" in action as real shows...
Blunder Woman is such a perfect Mad Magazine story idea.

You had me at Gene Rooster. I am all in.
Green lit!
I would love to see "Little Mouse On The Prairie." For some reason, this title makes me want to create a shoebox diorama.
That idea makes total sense.

I like a mystery. Were the cards you were looking for part of the Jets, Rockets, Spacemen Series?

I own some books, not a ton, but I am intrigued.
