Cannot stand “Forrest Gump”. Forced nostalgia for events I’m not particularly nostalgic about, and not understand what was REALLY cool about those decades; a “love” story where his love interest treats him like crap; annoying main character.

I never had any issues with the film. I liked the silly gimmick when it came out, but can't say I watch it much. The only part that really bugged me was the relationship. I found it challenging on my first viewing and very difficult to take on any rewatch.
Well.... isn't that MOST love stories? You gotta keep the tension/comedy up for the whole film and then at the end you realize this person you've hated all along is THE ONE!
Hmmmm.... I wonder why divorce hovers around 50%....

I want to know how he didn’t get HIV and how his son wasn’t sick either.

It was a weird choice because they made me actively root against them getting together. When it finally "happened," I wanted to boo.
