Enjoy this full color scan of the 1985 LEGO product catalog. Its amazing how unsophisticated the LEGO systems were compared to today’s sets. Still, thumbing through this catalog makes me want want the Space System.

    I think what you mean by “unsophisticated” is “bricks with multiple uses, instead of insanely specialized and expensive single-use parts”

    Actually, I love these old catalogs and sets from the 1979-1985 period. In fact, I have quite a few of them in storage and many of the sets have never been opened.
