I am very familiar with the lemon twist. I have seen modern versions of the strawberry for sale but didn't see any retro versions online. Fruit on a rope is the way to go.

I've tried to get one for my nephew but they went out of fashion again. My friend had one her Mum made with a pedometer. Pretty clever.
They seem to pop up from time to time. Nowadays I see them being made by companies under different names. Seem to have similar function.
