Notice the Intense Focus in this 1980s Computer Lab

If you ever spend time with young people and computers, you might notice that they disappear into the digital world pretty quickly. This is not a new phenomenon. As you can see in this photo from the mid-1980s, these kids are deeply immersed in what I am sure is spreadsheet work and not video games.

  1. I’m always amazed to see Apple computers in computer labs especially in those days, because the prices were astronomical. These schools knew this technology was important and therefore, made the investment. I remember going to a computer class in the early 80’s but I think we were using IBM 5150s. And yes, I was just as intense as these kids :)
