Bring ‘Em Back Alive wass an adventure television series starring Bruce Boxleitner as Frank Buck, Cindy Morgan and Ron O’Neal. It ran from September 1982 to May 1983. Set in Singapore, it was similar to Tales of the Gold Monkey in that it tired to capture the success of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

In reality, Frank Buck was a real big game trapper who was very famous in the 1930s. He wrote a book entitled Bring ‘Em Back Alive (the name of the show!). He appeared in several movies including a 1932 adaptation of the book and is remembered by serial fans as the star of “Jungle Menace”.

    Oh Man, I love Tales of the Gold Monkey, just watched an episode thre other night. I ll have to see if I can get some of these as well!!

    With all the buzz of TRON this year it would be INCREDIBLY cool to get this set of 18 or so episodes released on DVD!!!

  5. I just watched the first episode..LOVE IT!!!! They actually spent some money on it. I counted 3 matte paintings in the two-part first episode. Love the sets and the location shots. Great, great show! Thanks for the tip!

  6. I just read a short article about Frank Buck in the March edition of Texas Highways. Pretty neat, may actually get his book at Amazon
