Saturday Frights Podcast Matinee – Jeffrey Combs

Saturday Frights Podcast Matinee – Jeffrey Combs

Much like with what we’ve done on the Diary of an Arcade Employee podcast with the 1UP mini-episodes – the Saturday Frights Podcast is attempting the same with these Matinee offerings. While Jeffrey Combs is the subject of this first show – we hope that these 10 to 15 minute podcasts will be entertaining but more importantly digest size shows about every week that can cover many different subjects in regards to horror. So as this first episode is all about the two times I was able to meet the esteemed actor, Jeffrey Combs, future shows could cover the five best Tales from the Crypt television episodes to tackling reviews of TV and Movies that might be new but still have a connection to all things retro. The main goal is to keep these Matinee episodes light and informative – they will also not affect the regular monthly show – which at the time of this writing should be out in about two weeks.

Assuming of course that Dr. West gives us our usual injections to keep us on track…

To be honest, we don’t delve too deep into the career of Jeffrey Combs in this show – more of offering some highlights, because quite frankly we have tackled movies like Re-Animator and The Frighteners in the past. Having said that I do provide a few sound clips from his over 135 roles in film and television. I think the choices of subject matter might surprise you… or perhaps not depending on how well you know me!

I should add that since this is a Saturday Frights Podcast show, I am as always joined by the Projectionist. It might surprise you to learn, while he isn’t as disruptive as you might imagine for this particular episode – he does gets a little incredulous as to my encounter with not Jeffrey Combs but with Director Sam Raimi of The Evil Dead and Spider-Man fame.

So come pay us a visit down in the depths of the Vault as I share my encounters with the iconic Jeffrey Combs on the Saturday Frights Podcast Matinee!
