It’s A Golden Girls Trivia Game, Anyway You Slice It!

Yes Retroist, There Is A Golden Girls Trivia Game!

Golden Girls Trivia Game? Surely Allison is making this up…isn’t she?

Click “Read More” and I’ll show you!

Haha, you decided “read more”…or you were already looking at the whole article.

Either way…There is a Golden Girls Trivia Game!

The Golden Girls: Anyway You Slice It Game

“Anyway You Slice It” is a Golden Girls Trivia Game, created and distributed by Cardinal, and sold at Target for $14.99.

I spotted this a few weeks ago during a normal shopping trip, and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to give it the old Retroist try!

Gameplay and Game Structure

Each player receives a pie plate/cheesecake dish, along with a matching player token. A correct answer awards one cheesecake slice to the player answering correctly (a correct answer means matching the the prompt on the card to the Golden Girl it pertains to), as well as the person answering the question (can’t figure out that logic). Answer incorrectly, and the person asking the question gets a slice…but not you, you incorrect answer giver.

In order to win, you must collect eight slices of cheesecake.

Sounds easy, right?

Why don’t we find out?

Let’s Play Anyway You Slice It!

I made a video of the gameplay. A little awkward and difficult with only one person playing, but I made it work.

It was weird and awkward, but I made it work!

As I said, I filmed the entire gameplay…only to have to start over again when I realized I didn’t demonstrate it correctly. Oops!

But in all, “Anyway you Slice It” is definitely a fun game! In a small group, this could easily be an enjoyable game, but is best played by a group with some familiarity with the program and the characters. The “Who Wore It?” questions were very obvious, as were the quotes (see below and you’ll understand).

If anything, this is a great Golden Girls collectible in the vein of the Monopoly and Clue-themed games (I don’t own either game). Add in a Trivial Pursuit game (get on this already!), and I’m sold!

Well…shutup and take my money.

When did this happen?!

And Before We Go…

I think this was my favorite card of the ones I went through…

Is it me, or did someone recycle an old Maude publicity photo?

This was my second favorite…

“Jeez, lady!  You just get out of prison?!”

Hey, if anything, it helps you brush up on your quotes for your Golden Girls reenactment.

No, that’s not a thing I do.

  1. Hello Alison,
I was the designer on the Any way you slice it game.
Laying the token in front the character to answer the questions opens up the odds slightly, so that players who are not fully aware of these lovely ladies have a better chance at guessing the correct answer. Thats why there is a brief bio on each standee. I hope this helps and I’m glad you enjoyed the my game and the Memes, those were my favorite part of building out this game.

  2. @Derric Capteina – Thank you for your response! Yes, I absolutely love the concept of the game, especially the Memes!!!! I really wanted it for the novelty of it, but it is a great game for us fans! Thank you for designing Anyway You Slice It! (BTW, I’m probably the biggest Golden Girls fan of my friends and probably could take them all in this game, just sayin’!) :-)
