Much like Star Wars Day, 20th Century Fox realized there are many fans of the Alien franchise. Which is of course why for third year, Alien Day is making a return. So what can you expect from the festivities for Alien Day 2018? It turns out some pretty fun stuff as a matter of fact. Best of all, for Alien Day 2018 you won’t actually have to go toe to toe with any Xenomorphs…unless you want to of course.
Naturally the reason April 26th has been chosen for all Alien Days is simple. You will recall that in the 1979 masterpiece, the crew of the Nostromo land upon LV-426. You might remember that this first encounter with a Xenomorph doesn’t go favorably for the crew members.
I think we might as well start with Alien: Descent for this Alien Day 2018 coverage. Descent is a brand new free-roaming VR experience at The Outlets at Orange, located in 20 City Blvd W, Orange, California. What is it you might ask?
“Join an elite squad of Colonial Marines sent to investigate a distress signal from a Weyland-Yutani mining outpost. Just before losing contact, the facility reported some sort of infestation. It’s up to you and your squad to contain the threat, quarantine any survivors and get everyone off-world safely.”

The esteemed Mondo has some choice offerings this year. First up is a limited edition Alien inspired movie poster by Pascal Blanche.
Who on the official Mondo site had this to say about appreciation for Ridley Scott’s 1979 film.
“ALIEN is my favorite Horror and hard science space movie. I’ve watched it countless times whether it was for the music or going back to this uncanny sequence on LV426. The slow rhythm of the landing, the expedition, the alien ship reveal … everything in there has hooked me for years and is still a big influence on my work. I am honored and privileged to pay tribute to this classic movie with my poster.”
They are also offering a new T-Shirt which features artwork by Martin Ansin. The subject matter? Why none other than Jonesy, the feline companion to the crew of the Nostromo. As well as depending on how you look at it, the reason most of them didn’t make it out alive!
20th Century Fox is also joining in on the celebration. Apparently earlier in the month they were offering sweet deals on digital versions of the Alien film franchise. It began on the 21st, with a new movie each day, so for today only you can grab Alien: Covenant for $4.99, by using the Movie of the Day app.

That is not all the ways you can celebrate Alien Day 2018:
“Gamers can win Alien franchise movies on Blu-ray and other fantastic prizes by competing in Zen Studios’ Aliens Pinball FX3 tournament! Everyone who plays the Aliens table on Five-Minute Mode between April 26 and May 3 is eligible, with the best prizes going to those who top the leaderboards. Players can download Pinball FX3 for free on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10 or Steam. The Aliens table is part of a three-pack known as Aliens vs. Pinball, which also includes tables based on Alien vs. Predator and Alien: Isolation.
Beginning today, Shop.FoxMovies.Com unveils all-new apparel commemorating Dark Horse’s upcoming Aliens: Dust to Dust comic series which launches today.”
Immerse yourself in the horrors of the ALIEN Universe from the safety of your home. Binge your own ALIEN marathon as HBO On Demand, HBO GO, and HBO NOW will offer a special presentation of the franchise films including Alien (Director’s Cut), Aliens, Alien3, Alien: Resurrection, and Alien: Covenant.
Plus, fans should stay tuned for major merchandise announcements, limited edition releases and exciting unveils to take place on and in the days leading up to ALIEN DAY. Among the key licensees returning to the ALIEN DAY celebration include Dark Horse Comics, Eaglemoss, The Loyal Subjects, Fright Rags, Geek Fuel, Mattel, Super 7, Diamond Select, Wonderdice, Park Agencies, Heighway Pinball Limited, Titan, NECA, Mondo, Prime 1, Trevco, Changes, Funko and more.”
So there you go, friends. Certainly a whole lot of options to celebrate Alien Day 2018!
