A couple of months back I passed on the information about Warner Bros. releasing the entire first season of Filmation’s Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle on DVD. They were kind enough to send me the 2 Disc DVD set so that I might let you know what to expect when you pick up this classic animated series.

Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle originally aired on CBS starting back on September 11, 1976 and surprisingly had elements more in common with the direction that Edgar Rice Burroughs took with the 24 sequels to his original story in The All-Story in 1912. No matter what Rudyard Kipling might of thought of Burroughs work…”find out how bad a book he could write and get away with it.”…the character of Viscount Greystoke who we know as Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle continues to be extremely popular as the upcoming new film The Legend of Tarzan proves.
