You might recall back in February when we shared the pretty awesome pilot for 1983’s The Video Game Challenge, it featured Ben Gold and former Millipede World Record Holder Eric Ginner.
I was amazed to find when looking through a few old gaming magazines at the arcade an advertisement for Atari’s Arabian that featured Eric Ginner! Eric lost that title to Ben Gold in the Video Game Challenge so that obviously hadn’t been filmed before this ad came out.
In case you need a clearer look at the text in the ad.
Arabian is one of the first games that I zeroed on at my local Showbiz Pizza, something about it’s gameplay just really sunk its claws into me. This was a game that I would always make sure to save a few tokens for before my Saturday afternoon supply was spent, I certainly wasn’t a champion like Eric Ginner but there was an occasion or two when I would have some people watching over my shoulder as I played.
