I received the Jabba the Hutt playset on my birthday, one that was held at the Showbiz Pizza of my youth. For some odd reason during that particular party I also was given three Tauntauns from three different school mates. That is a lot of Tauntauns…especially considering I already had two from the previous Christmas!
Although my memory banks could be suffering from faulty data, I do believe I received the Jabba playset before the movie had been released, I do at least recall however at how we kids were all captivated by the interior of the “dungeon” with it’s skeleton and rats!
Thanks to The Museum of Classic Chicago Television you can see just a snippet of video before the TV ad from the TBS Superstation Funtime block of Looney Tunes, Three Stooges, and Terrytoon shorts like Heckle and Jeckle!
“His Excellency hopes that you will die honorably.”
