I’m afraid that in my youth, our household had very little music playing in it. I suppose my Father being a single parent was just too busy working to worry about picking up new LP’s, of course he also a great Beatles record collection so maybe he was just satisfied with that.
Thanks to music video programs like Nick Rocks and TBS’ Night Track though I started to get a taste for music…

…although for some reason I never would watch American Bandstand. Which really is a shame because I missed out on some great acts like this episode that featured Weird Al and Dick Clark chatting it up after what must have been a performance for 1985’s “Dare to be Stupid”.
