What Was Halloween Safety Like In 1977?

Not shockingly the safety precautions that parents and kids were asked to follow during Halloween back in 1977 aren’t actually that different than what we have today…of course there isn’t a whole lot of Trick or Treating anymore is there?

At least in my neck of the woods it seems like it has mostly died away, there are one or two neighborhoods that still really pull out all the stops, I mean the houses are all decorated and almost every single house has the porch light on and the owners sitting on the front steps to hand out candy.

For the most part I think parents take their kids to the multitude of events begin held at the major malls and even city halls in some small towns where I live…it’s safer so I totally understand but I kind of miss the days presented in the 1977 public service announcement below.
