I loved going to the Woolworth when I was a kid. I loved the food, the toys, the pet department…everything. Here in this ad from the late seventies you see a woman, dressed carnival barker style talking about all the great things at Woolworth during, “Dollar Days”. You could get: a bucket of sponges, a dustpan set, steel oven pans, food containers, color film, polyester blankets and vinyl lampshades all at low low prices. It is like inflation never happened!
I miss this place…
