New Jersey’s own Kool & the Gang were a force to be reckoned with the seventies, but as the eighties rolled along they were still relevant enough to be asked to star in a commercial for the all new Wendy’s Crispy Chicken Nuggets. Not only do they appear, but they do a changed version of their popular song “Celebration”, that sings the praises of these all new white meat chicken nuggets.
It is a brilliant bit of song recycling to sell a product. That, combined with the bright colors and kinetic action of the commercial, make this one of the more memorable bits of mid-eighties advertising.
