Cutting Edge Cable TV Technology in 1980

I cut this out of a 1980 magazine and it illustrates what would have been cutting edge cable TV technology. The cable box, with its switches and buttons is a lot like the box we had in our living room. Unlike this guy, we watched our TV like a normal human being, not sitting on the couch, legs tucked under an end table, our eyes inches from the screen and a large glass of “water” at the ready.
