In 1990 they started showing this Terminator 2 Endoskeleton Factory Teaser Trailer in theaters. I don’t remember which film I saw it with, but it was definitely the topic of conversation for weeks afterwards between my movie-loving friends.
Seeing the construction of a Terminator was a genius way to promote a film without giving away anything about the plot in the upcoming sequel and it fueled my imagination with wild concepts and “what ifs” that remained right up until I saw the actual film. I would put this in any top list of trailers ever made for effectiveness.
