Ethel Merman was a versatile and talented performer. So when the disco craze was sweeping America, Merman got on board and released an album of disco jams. To support that album she went on one of the best shows for promoting anything in the 1970s, “Kids are People Too”.
I have no idea how well this record did, but my family did own a copy that we picked up at a garage sale in the early 1980s. Some people make fun of the album, but a lot of artists tried to get in on the disco craze by just adding a new beat to an old song and Merman does as good as you would expect. But don’t take my word for it, listen to Merman crush it in this appearance.
