Kenner Hardy Boys Action Figures

Last week I was at a store that sold vintage toys when an in box Shaun Cassidy Hardy Boys figure caught my eye. I do not collect Hardy Boys material, but I had been watching the show again lately and had never looked at one up close. The box was crisp and the doll looked perfectly intact. I asked the guy how much and he wanted $75 dollars. When I told them it was way too high a fire sale commenced and he came down to $40. For some reason, I still could not bring myself to pull the trigger, which I think aggravated the owner even more and he lost interest in trying to sway me. Which is probably for the best, even though it was a great deal.

Of course, if I got Joe, I would have had to eventually pick up Frank, and I am pretty sure a lunchbox is probably lurking out there that I would need to have betwixt them on my shelf. So I keep repeating to myself, “It is for the best”, but when I watch the show or see this commercial and of course I have my doubts. I wonder if he would have taken $35…

  1. I almost won a nice lot of vintage lunchboxes on EBay recently that included the HARDY BOYS TV Show box. It’s an awesome lunchbox what with its bold, contrasting colors and stylized Seventies graphics.
Wish I had won that auction.
Wish I had been in that shop with you- I’d drop $40 for that MIB Joe Hardy!
