Hey, friends! Just wanted to let you know that the new Throwback Reviews Podcast is uploaded and ready for your listening pleasure! Once again Rob O’Hara and Sean were gracious enough to fit their busy schedules to match my own so that we could discuss the 1981 Sci-Fi/Comedy “The Incredible Shrinking Woman”. We briefly discuss the plot of the film and of course talk about the amazing cast of the film like Lily Tomlin (and her multiple roles in this film), Charles Grodin (Midnight Run), Ned Beatty (Superman), Henry Gibson (The Blues Brothers), John Glover (Gremlins 2), and Rick Baker (Men In Black). We touch on what I felt was odd about the film, a bizarre mixture of slapstick comedy coupled with the serious Sci-Fi theme of the Incredible Shrinking Man from back in 1957…and I make a lame joke about the film’s director, Joel Schumacher.
I also share my tale of actually seeing Lily Tomlin at the airport in my neck of the woods from a few years back. A word of warning, once you hear the theme song for Galaxy Glue it will indeed get stuck in your head for the rest of the week!
It was a pleasure as always to get to talk to Rob and Sean and I look forward to our next chance to get together. I think you will quite enjoy the show as well so just follow the link provided up top and give it a listen when you can and make sure to hop on over to their Facebook page and give them a Like…or face the wrath of a smiling Ned Beatty
