It’s Time To Listen To The Story Of Star Wars…On 8-Track Tape!

Story of Star Wars
“A long time ago in a Galaxy far, far away, a great adventure took place…”

With that opening narration the Story of Star Wars begins, narrated by Roscoe Lee Browne (Logan’s Run, The Cowboys), this 8-Track tape gives an abridged version of the Star Wars film using dialogue and sound effects. I can remember vividly listening to this tape over and over in my youth…so much so…the tape broke well before it should have.

A huge thanks to Tom Berges for posting this on the I Grew Up Star Wars.Com Facebook page and for allowing me to share it with you all. It’s a nice look back at what some might say we fans back in the day had to put up with, but even with all of it’s audio warble listening to this brings a very large smile to my face and I bet it will for you too.

  1. Right, right. It was a single album but if I remember it right, it had a fold open sleeve like the double album sets because it had the photo book inside.

  2. I had the picture disc record album with Vader on one side and the droids on the other. I loved listening to that. Just found the 8 track bersion last weekend at a flea market but they would not budge on their too high price.
