ABBA help to Keep Britain Tidy

For almost 60 years, Great Britain has had a charitable endeavour in operation called ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ and during those years, the charity behind the slogan has used a number of celebrities to get its simple anti-littering message across to its audience.

In 1976, someone at the charity was able to convince Swedish superstars ABBA to support the campaign by writing to them in their native tongue! So impressed were the group that they agreed to wear the yellow t-shirts for anti-littering posters at rail stations across the land.

In the same year, ABBA also posed for a publicity shot for Keep Australia Beautiful, so ABBA were clearly keen on the general message!
