I do much of my shopping online nowadays. Which is very convenient, but I do miss some of the fun of old school browsing. I especially miss when I would be drawn into a products because of packaging. Next month, Icon Heroes is releasing a Masters of the Universe Castle Grayskull Statue.
Looking at it on their website you would have no idea what the packaging for it will look like. Actually, even after looking around for a bit, I still don’t know exactly what it is going to look like, but while searching I found this painting by Nate Baertsch that is going to be used as the basis for the packaging.
If I had seen this in the store, I do not think I would have been able to escape without staring at it for an hour and then agonizing over whether or not purchase it. That is the power of well made and well branded packaging.
