Saturday Frights – The Mini-Munsters (1973)

You fiendish film fans are still lurking around the ol’ Retroist Vault? You all realize that it’s a bit more hospitable to mortals such as yourselves out there now…I mean those Yeti’s stopped their infernal howls days ago. Well, I believe that such loyalty should be rewarded, and oh what a diabolical reward I have in store for you!

Starring Al Lewis…and no one else from the original show…seriously Butch, was Lidsville really that lucrative?

When it comes to cartoons lost to the mists of time, I believe the spell I’ve cast on our daemonic projector may have yielded one of the most obscure of all; The Mini-Munsters! Based on the beloved 60’s sitcom, The Mini-Munsters presents new adventures of the famous frightening family (minus Marilyn…but we do get two new additions Igor and Lucretia) as they run afoul of gangsters, form a rock band, and engage in illicit hearse racing, as all families do.

So sink deep into your chairs, extinguish all light and travel back to Mockingbird Lane as Vic Sage, Doug McCoy, Claymation Werewolf and Phishbon3s…hey, wait a minute. Where are those slacking goofs? I haven’t seen them since last wee…oh…oh no. Let me just take a peek outside and…um, could one of you get me a car battery, jumper cables and some band-aids?

Daniel XIII

Daniel XIII: equally at home at a seance as he is behind the keyboard! Raised on a steady diet of Son of Satan comics, Kaiju flicks and Count Chocula, ol' XIII is a screenwriter, actor, and reviewer of fright flicks! What arcane knowledge lurks behind the preternatural eyes of the Ouija Board Kid?
