In the 1940s, the Sunset Strip looked a little different then the one I first encountered just over a decade ago. If I lived in the LA area, I would like to watch this and then drive around and see if I can see any traces of what remains after a couple of decades. When I worked in New York City, I found a book that had photographs of the city block by block and I would try to take on a block each morning as I walked to work and look for difference. I probably looked like a weird standing and staring at some nondescript building at 7 in the morning, but oddly enough no one seemed to notice.
