We were not a Frito family until one day my entire family went to visit my Mother’s friend down the shore. We sat down for dinner and she served something she called “Frito Pie.” We all looked at each other, thinking “what the heck is this??” Then we ate. Our faces went from puzzlement to happiness in no time flat and “Frito Pie” would become a welcome addition to out household from that day forward.
It was so prized that if you attempted to eat any of the Fritos in non-pie form, you would hear it from the entire household.
