The Making of King’s Quest VI

It is funny to look book and be amazed at a video, with video being so ubiquitous nowadays, but to some of us in 1993, video like this on a PC was still pretty amazing. This video is one of the extra bonuses included on the CD-ROM version of King’s Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow. It is just as much an advert for CD-ROM/PC gaming as it is a “making of” video. I really like the dig they make at the less sophisticated games you can find on cartridges.

Kings Quest VI was an amazing adventure game and possibly the peak of the series. I still miss the Sierra adventures – always high quality entertainment. The video is pretty amusing in its disdain for lowly “cartridges”.
