John Whitney’s “Catalog” (1961)

John Whitney was an American animator, who is considered by many to be one of the fathers of computer animation. In 1960, he founded Motion Graphics Incorporated, and used a mechanical analogue computer to create title sequences and commercials. In 1961, he assembled a record of these visual effects and created a demo film he called, “Catalog.”
