I am not sure if you are aware this but from 1991 to late 1992 men were completely discontinued. Demand was just so low that the manufacturer stopped making them and the remaining models were recalled. After all the effort involved with the recall and the inevitable legal wranglings, it came to a surprise to many that demand still existed for men and they were brought out of retirement right in time for the holiday season of 1992. While demand did not meet expectations that year, it was still a very successful year for men and many brands celebrated with product tie-ins.
We are closing in on the 25th Anniversary of the man-recall and although many have tried to forget the ill-fated “Man Pepsi” and products like it, others still have fond memories of Brut’s celebration of the reintroduction of men.
