A Barbie clad in denim in a pink ice cream parlor? What kid in the 1980s would not have loved that? What I really like about this ad and why I think I remember it is the imagery of the shopping spree. This was a powerful draw for me as a kid. I had Toys-R-Us shopping spree fantasies all the time and I think it is something a smart toy store would revive, maybe they could even do it virtually online as some sort of game. Then whoever does best at the game actually wins everything in their cart?
