Pay ‘n Save ad from 1961

I chanced upon this ad from the Seattle Times while reading about the Uncle Wiggily series of short stories that I remember from my youth. There is a lot of cool stuff in here, from the all metal doll house to the “Mark II” electric shaver that “actually amplifies whiskers into sounds!” With an atom etched on the faceplate, no less.

Wikipedia tells me Pay n’ Save had a very convoluted corporate history involving many different store chains, the last remaining of which (Bi-Mart) was sold to Rite Aid in 1996.

I know this is a little early for Christmas, but it’s never too soon to stock up on “toothpick” tree kits!
