The King Kong Show – “The Hunter” (1966)

The King Kong Show
With yesterday marking the 80th Anniversary of the original King Kong film it seemed to be the right time to share this episode from the 1966 Rankin-Bass produced King Kong Show.

The show features young Bobby Bond, who after being saved from being eaten by a T-Rex by King Kong finds himself best friends with the enormous gorilla. Also with Bobby is his Father Professor Bond and his sister Susan Bond, friend of the family Captain Englehorn (based on the original character from the 1933 film) is ready to lend a hand when trouble arises.

This TV animated series actually inspired the 1967 King Kong Escapes featuring Mechani-Kong as the robotic duplicate of King Kong. Mechani-Kong made his first appearance in the animated series to boot.
