Hand, Hand, Fingers Thumb


This book was originally published in 1969, but was still widely available in the late 70s. It was among my most favorite books when I was little, I spent my entire childhood spurting out “dum, ditty dum, ditty dum dum dum” at various times (sometimes in the context of “that was dumb ditty dumb dumb”, sometimes just in the context of a kid spouting out annoying & repetitive things (“wheels on the bus” or “99 bottles of beer”, anyone?)). I loved the illustrations of the beatnik-looking monkeys, and I loved the text itself.
