I love the Planet of the Apes, but I did not get to see it on a big screen until the 1990s when a movie house near me was showing it. Before they started the film, they showed the trailer for the film (along with the other Ape movies). This was my first exposure to the trailer. As soon as the text came on the screen, it gave me the chills and I knew I was in for a special experience.
Seeing the film with hardcore fans, who knew all the parts and anticipated and enjoyed it as a group is not always ideal, but when you are prepared for it, it can be unique and memorable experience. Something you will not get watching it isolated at home.
